Felice Bagorda
Managing Partner / Chief Executive Officer
Felice Bagorda is a Managing Partner, Chief Executive Officer, and part of the BCP's Sales team covering European Institutional accounts and as well as Private Banking/Family office accounts since joining our Madrid office in 2018. In January 2022, Mr. Bagorda relocated to BCP's Miami office to expand coverage to Institutional accounts in the Americas. Prior to joining BCP, Mr. Bagorda worked at Credit Suisse for 22 years, where he carried out different positions in several Trading departments both on the Buy and Sell side in New York and Switzerland. Mr. Bagorda holds an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Economics at KV Business School in Zurich.
Manuel Ballesteros
Managing Partner
Manuel Ballesteros is a Managing Partner and Head of Sales and Trading for BCP´s Mexico City office since 2014. He is in charge of the firm´s Mexican Peso trading desk. Prior to joining BCP, he was a Director at Credit Agricole CIB in New York where he oversaw Institutional Sales for Latam accounts, trading FX, Structured Notes and Interest Rates Derivatives. Previously, he ran the trading desk for Monex Securities in Houston and Mexico City. Mr. Ballesteros holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad Anahuac and he is certified by Finra Series 7, 24, 4 and 27.
Omar Bilal
Managing Partner
Omar Bilal is a Managing Partner responsible for BCP’s Asian office in Singapore. He joined the firm in 2015 and is the primary trader for Asian high yield bonds from China, India, Indonesia and the frontier markets. Prior to joining BCP, Omar worked at Barclays Capital, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters in various roles as a product sales and strategist for fixed income. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (2007) and an MBA in Finance & Strategy from INSEAD (2014). He is also a CFA charter holder.
Edward J. Burke
Managing Partner / Head of Trading
Edward J. Burke is a Managing Partner in the Institutional Division and Head of Trading, working alongside Dan Jurkowitz. He has worked in Emerging Markets Fixed Income since 1993, trading sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate bonds in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining BCP in October 2016, Mr. Burke worked at Credit Suisse Securities in New York and London and at Deutsche Bank Securities in New York. He previously worked at Santander Securities and as an attorney at Seward & Kissel LLP. Mr. Burke holds a B.A. in Economics/Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross (cum laude, 1986), as well as J.D. (with High Honors) and M.B.A. degrees from Duke University (1990).
Rene Daellenbach
Managing Partner
Rene Daellenbach is a Managing Partner responsible for Sales coverage of the Swiss Private Banking and Asset Management sector. Prior to joining BCP in 2012, Mr. Daellenbach worked for 6 years at Jefferies , New York and Chicago, where he established all trading relationships for EM and US fixed income products in Switzerland. In 1994, Mr. Daellenbach started his Emerging Market career at SBC Warburg (now UBS Securities) New York as Director of Latam sales. His main role was to serve as EM trading and advisory contact for all SBC’s Private Bankers in North and Latin America. Mr. Daellenbach holds a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mauro Della Cioppa
Managing Partner
Mauro Della Cioppa is a Managing Partner responsible for the Madrid and Singapore Profit Centers. He joined the company in 2005 and he is also the firm’s primary trader for the Russia/CIS & Turkey markets. Prior to joining BCP, he worked as an Emerging Markets Sales Manager at an Italian bank for 5 years. Mr. Cioppa earned a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from Instituto Universitario Orientale di Napoli in Naples, Italy and holds both a Series 7 and 24 licenses.
Natalie Diaz
Managing Partner
Natalie Diaz is a Partner and part of the EM Sales and Trading team. She joined BCP in early 2009 as both a junior sales person and a trading assistant. She quickly moved up the ranks and has been covering a multitude of U.S. and Latin American, particularly Peruvian, institutional investors. In addition to her sales responsibilities at BCP, she has been the backup trader for Argentine sovereign and corporate bonds. Ms. Diaz became a partner in 2018. Prior to joining BCP, she began her career with Barclays in 2003, before moving on to Latin American and Emerging Markets focused roles at Bear Stearns and Deutsche Bank. Ms. Diaz holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance/Marketing from Manhattan College (cum laude, 2003).
Edwin Garcia
Managing Partner / Head of Operations
Edwin García is a Managing Partner and Head of Operations. Additionally, in 2006 he was named the FINOP (Financial and Operations Principal). He has more than 30 years of experience in the finance industry. Mr Garcia began his career with the New York Agency of Multibanco Comermex (later adquired by the Inverlat Group), where he moved up the ranks to Accounting Manager. In 2001 he joined Banorte Securities as the Head of Operations and FINOP. He has been with BCP Securities LLC since May of 2006. Mr. Garcia holds a B.A. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo – UASD (1983).
James V. Harper
Managing Partner / Head of Debt Capital Markets
James V. Harper is Managing Partner and Head of Debt Capital Markets at BCP. Prior to becoming Head of DCM in 2015, he was Head of Research for several years. Before joining BCP Securities in 2001, he was a VP at New York-based boutique investment bank The Weston Group, where he held a variety of roles in corporate finance, advisory, and research focused on Latin American Eurobonds. Mr. Harper holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University as well as a MBA in International Business from the Universidad de las Américas-Puebla and a B.A. from Dartmouth College, James is also a CFA Charter holder.
Ben Hough
Managing Partner
Ben Hough is a Managing Partner. He joined BCP in July 2015 as Director of Corporate Research. He spent 15 years on the buy side where he focused on private equity, high yield, distressed and listed equities in Latin America and developed markets. He worked at CQS and prior to that at Gracie Credit and Gracie Capital. He served as CFO for companies based in Latin America and has followed the Latam High Yield and distressed markets for over 15 years. Mr. Hough has a B.A. from Williams College.
Ricardo C. Houson
Managing Partner
Ricardo C. Houson is a Managing Partner and Head of the International division in Greenwich. He has been with BCP for 18 years. Mr. Houson leads secondary trading for Argentine bonds for six BCP offices worldwide and is credited for BCP’s strong market share in the primary issuance and secondary trading of Argentine bonds.. Prior to joining BCP, he was VP of fixed income at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell for 5 years. Prior to Morgan Grenfell, Mr. Houson was the head of external debt trading at Banco Mariva for 10 years. Mr. Houson graduated as CPA from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Daniel S. Jurkowitz
Managing Partner
Dan Jurkowitz is a Managing Partner responsible for the Institutional Division alongside Ted Burke. Dan is responsible for global sales and trading with Institutional Investors. Prior to joining BCP in August 2016, Dan worked sixteen years (2000–2016) at Credit Suisse, holding a number of senior positions including, Global Head of Emerging Markets Sales, Co-Head of Emerging Markets Sales and Trading in the Americas and Head of Investment Grade Sales in the United States. From 1990-2000, Dan worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and JPMorgan. From 1994–2000, he held senior sales positions covering US institutional investors. From 1992–1994, he was an associate in the emerging markets debt capital markets business. From 1990–1992, Dan worked in domestic US banking. Mr. Jurkowitz holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management (1990) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Dayton (1986). At the University of Dayton he was a four year varsity football player and team captain his senior year.
Juan Carlos Luque-Suescun
Managing Partner
Juan Carlos Luque-Suescun is a Managing Partner responsible for the Miami branch. His responsibilities include Sales, Trading and Syndication for the Andean and Central America regions. He joined BCP in 1998 and was named a partner in 2000. Previous to BCP, Mr. Luque worked at UBS-Warbrug’s fixed income and foreign exchange groups, servicing financial institutions and central banks in Latin America with tenures in New York, Zurich and Stamford. He started his career in Wall Street on Kidder Peabody’s fixed income desk. Mr. Luque holds a MBA degree (1993) from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), a Masters in Finance from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, and an Architecture degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota.
Steven C. Owens
Managing Partner
Steve Owens is a Managing Partner. Mr Owens started at BCP in 1993, doing sales and trading of local currency Mexican bonds (CETES). In 1996, he expanded into the sales and trading of dollar sovereign and corporate bonds across all the Emerging Markets. In 2014, he became the Head of Syndication. Mr. Owens has a BA in Finance from Michigan State University (1992).
Tony Perez
Managing Partner
Tony Perez is a Managing Partner in the Institutional Division, working alongside Dan Jurkowitz and Ted Burke. He currently manages the BCP Los Angeles office. Mr. Perez has worked in Emerging Markets Fixed Income since 1995, as a salesman covering Hedge Funds and Asset Managers in the US, Latin America, and Europe. Prior to joining BCP in March 2018, Mr. Perez was a partner at Barclay Investments in Los Angeles. Mr. Perez started his career in Emerging Markets at Merrill Lynch and became a Managing Director before leaving in 2009. Mr. Perez holds a B.A. in Computer Science from New York University and an MBA from the Anderson school at the University of Southern California.
Randall E. Pike
Chairman
Randall E. Pike, Chairman of BCP Securities, Inc., founded the company in 1989. From 1987 to 1989 he was director of OBSA International (a subsidiary of Operadora de Bolsa S.A., at that time Mexico’s largest investment bank), where he worked to successfully set up and open the first U.S. office of a Mexican brokerage firm and managed corporate finance as well as the sales and marketing of securities. From 1982 to 1987 he worked at the Mexico City and New York offices of Continental Bank (now a part of Bank of America). Mr. Pike has been involved in international capital markets for over 35 years. Mr. Pike holds a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University (1971), a MBA from the University of Hawaii (1976), and a Masters degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (1978). Mr. Pike is a retired Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserve, with over 3,000 hours of flight time as a pilot of various jet aircraft.
David C. Smith
Managing Partner
David C. Smith is a Managing Partner. Mr. Smith started his career in financial services in 1996 as part of Swiss Bank Corporation’s Emerging Markets Team. During his first year at SBC, Mr. Smith completed courses as part of the firms in-house training program in Foreign Exchange Regimes, Interest Rates, Derivatives and Options. He continued with the bank through various mergers of the late ’90s, before leaving UBS at the end of 1999. Mr. Smith joined BCP in February 2000 and became Partner in 2003. Mr. Smith holds a B.A. in Philosophy and History from the University of Texas (1989) and a Masters in Social Ecology and Forestry from the University of Idaho (1995). He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Ecuadorian Amazon from 1990–1992.
